Russell High School will be the backdrop for the Russell Kin Club’s Chocolate KINdulgence dance on February 16th.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. There will be a cash bar including chocolate martinis, a chocolate fountain, decadent draws, pampering prizes and so much more.

Dr. Darrell Menard Roast - December 1st

Dr. Darrell Menard, has stepped down from his general practice in medicine. He has served thousands of local Russell township residents over the years…so the least we could do for him…is roast him! This hilarious fundraiser will take place at the Embrun Community Centre on Saturday, December 1st, 2018, from 1800 - 2200 hours. Proceeds from this “roast” will go to the future Russell Township Aqua Centre.

This special event will see a number of persons and groups roast our favourite Doc, there will be hors d’oeuvres served, the jazz band “The Free Associations” will be back to entertain, a live auction will be held as well as other special presentations.

Corporations/business are encouraged to donate to the event's live auction and to make any cheque presentation ($5,000.00 or more) during the event.

Corporate/business packages are immediately available for a limited time only.

  1. Corporate/business Table:$1,200 - includes 8 places, logo displayed at table and on screen.
  2. Corporate/business Aqua Centre Supporter Table: $ 2,500 - includes 8 places, logo displayed at table, on screen and in the brochure.
  3. Official event sponsor & Aqua Centre Supporter Table: (1 Only) $10,000.  includes 16 places (2 tables), logos displayed at tables and on all event media. Public cheque presentation during Corporate Roast. 

Please note: Any future agreement with the Township for a Recognition Wall in the Aqua Centre will be honoured wherever possible.

19th Annual Poutmasters Fishing Derby a Huge Success!

The Kin Club of Russell’s 19th annual Poutmasters Fishing Derby, held May 11th - 13th was a huge success said Kin Club of Russell’s Poutmaster chair Doug Anthony. “We had perfect weather all weekend, the fish were biting and the prizes and sponsorships were amazing this year”, said Anthony.

In total 271 registered for the annual mudpout fishing derby, including 9 in the new Pro Series edition.  A total of 413 fish were caught over the beautiful weekend. “For the first year, we were ecstatic with 9 in the Pro Series…they were serious fishermen.” The Pro Series saw fishermen competing for the total weight of their five largest mudpout caught. The Pro Series winners (1st and 2nd) won cash prizes and all rankings were as follows:

This year’s Poutmasters were sponsored by Canadian Facility Security, Russell Township, South Nation Conservation, Embrun Giant Tiger, Hot Potato, Russell Lions Club, Laplante Dodge and Embrun Ford amongst others. Stella’s Touch in Russell donated the $500 day at the Spa for Mother’s Day, won by Brooke Laplante. The Canoe and Kayak from Barry’s Home Hardware were won by Mason Savage (kayak) and Marc Gauthier (canoe). Gift bags and 200 carnations (for Mother’s Day) were donated by Diane Hayes of Kelly’s Boutique.

Chris Pare of Moreland brought in $732 of pledges towards the Russell Township Sports Dome! Next year’s Poutmasters (May 10 -12th) will be the 20th anniversary, “Expect some big things!” said Anthony. RocKIN' the Night Away

Come rock the night away, 50s and 60s style! Join the Kin Club of Russell Saturday February 17, 2018 for our annual dance with entertainment from the amazing Eddy and the Stringrays! There will be a special draw for a pair of diamond earrings and a prize for the best costume.
